Protect Your Vessel !
Hello and welcome.
My girlfriends mother would always say to me you've got to 'protect the vessel'. I've been working in the construction industry since graduating college and have been working out in the gym even longer. I enjoy to build things and seeing the finished product at the end of a project is always rewarding. Similarly I love fitness because of the atmosphere of gyms and sporting facilities, and the progression you see when building your body is borderline addicting. What does this tanget have to do with my intro you may ask?
It's clear to anyone who works a physical job or pushes themselves in the gym that its easy to do things the incorrect way. You may even know someone who falls into this category. Either way I'm sure what I am about to say will ring true. How many people do you know with a bad back? They say it comes from years of working construction. "Stay in school" they'll tell you. Or how about someone who messed up ther shoulder because they lifted some weights in the gym in a less that mechanical fashion? The list of real world examples goes on and on and is not limited to people who push their bodies for a living. I'm starting to fee stiffness in my neck and shoulders as I write this and I barely spend any timeon the computer relative to most people. So once again, WE MUST find ways to 'protect the vessel'!
If you haven't caught on yet, vessel is a euphamism for your body. Believe what you want but you can certainly grasp the idea of your consiousness being seperate from your physical body, the latter of which is what your consciousness rides around in during this crazy life. And just like a vessel (commonly used to refer to a sea fairing vehicle such as a boat or yacht), our bodies need regular maintenance, preventative protection, upgrades and overall to just not be neglected. You wouldn't want to embark on a long jounrey into the ocean on a boat that hasn't been waterproofed, or has a windsail thats crooked, or a giant hole in the deck. Just like you wouldn't want to go through life with a body and mind thats been ailing but left untreated.
The point of this blog/website is for me to document my personal educational journey into health, wellness and fitness and share my findings, opninion etc with whomever is unlucky enough to stumble upon my clunky writing. If youre reading this now I thank you for making it this far. I promise that the quality of my writing will improve and grow as I do. I also promise to focus on bringning regular quality content to this site. Stay tuned for bigger and better things to come.
Remember to Protect Your Vessel !
